For Brendan's 26th birthday we took another trip out to Charleston to visit Kyle's family and relax on the beach for a few days. This time, we used VRBO to find an adorable room only a block from the beach on Folly Island. Our host was Carl, who spent his days running a $8/day parking lot next to his house, renting out the bottom half to beachgoers like ourselves and living on the top floor. When we checked in, we told him we were there for Brendan's birthday and the next time we saw him, he dropped off a tiny cake for us to enjoy!

We spent the next day on the island, walking down the beach and relaxing on the porch. We ate at St. James Gate, the irish pub on main street again, and tried a new taco place frequented more by locals further down the island.

Brendan's actual birthday was the day after, and we hung out at Kyle's house, enjoying the time with his niblings (and the opportunity for more cake)! Our last full day in South Carolina, we went up to Charleston proper and walked around King Street like we had the year before. We also did another escape room with Escape in 60, opting for the hardest room, Ransom, this time. Unfortunately, this was our first escape room failure but we still had a lot of fun!

We met Kyle and the family for one last lunch at Jason's Deli before heading back home, refreshed from our beach vacation.
